Blog Post #6 - Setting of the novel

The book takes place in London, England. Rebecca Bloomwood lives in a flat with her best friend and roommate, Suze. They live on one of busiest streets in the richest neighborhoods in London. At their house, you will usually find a stack of bills on both tables and on the floor that Becky needs to pay. She spends her mornings buying herself a cup of coffee and a muffin and in the afternoons, she splurges on a dinner at an expensive restaurant.  At night, they have a nice view of the city lights. Another place that this story takes place is at Rebecca's parents’ house. They live in a little town outside of London, Surrey, which isn't far from where Rebecca lives. Her parents' house is where she lived when she was younger. It is a quiet and small neighborhood. There are multiple areas this book could take place but I think this was the best place. The only problem is this story could only take place in a big city since there were multiple bank people and managers on her case. As well, since Rebecca likes to shop, there needs to be many places she can shop at. It is safe to say that a country that isn’t a shopping mecca, wouldn’t be satisfactory for Rebecca Bloomfield.
